The UC Irvine students who were arrested after protesting a Feb. 8, speech by Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren have received disciplinary letters from the university office of judicial affairs.
According to Cathy Lawhon, UCI spokeswoman,, the protesters had to respond to their disciplinary letters and make appointments with campus judicial affairs by Tuesday or holds would be placed on their registration and financial aid.
The sanctions could be as serious as suspension or expulsion.
Traher Herzallah, one of the three earlier UC Riverside protesters said that his protest followed in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks ……..
Comparing ones outbursts to Mr. Mandela and Ms. Parks silent protest is incongruent.

So what planet did these 17 protesters come from. Do they not know that our schools are in dire straits financially? They obviously don't peruse the news in any fashion whatsoever. Their claim that minorities suffer "institutional and systematical discrimination" is laughable. The only under-represented minority at UCI is the student Anglo population.
I don't know why the district attorney would have to give a second thought about prosecuting these destructive individuals. Further, if they are students at this or any other publicly financed institution of learning, they should be expelled. Period!
